“Hey, let’s hike to the bottom”, he said.
“No one’s
seen the canyon below”.
Sliding down
the hill’s slippery slope,
We landed
where boys seldom go.
Under a veil
of moss and ferns,
I saw the
clearest water flow,
Traversing
the abyss of paradise,
Few humans
will ever know.
The quiet
peace was addicting,
Time suddenly moved very slow…
We pledged ourselves
there forever,
But,
Heaven
surrendered and let us go.
