Once, I used to be the man,
Dancing under the disco balls…
Now I’m the old man with a cane,
In Mr. Green Jean’s overalls.
I used to drive to the city,
In the middle of the night.
Now I drive no farther,
When my home is out of sight.
I used to invite friends and strangers
To dinner and drinks at my home.
Now I enjoy junk food meals,
While dining all alone.
I used to explore the back roads,
Often a spontaneous decision to drive…
Now I never leave the house,
Since my Boxer co-pilots died.
