I remember when days were difficult,
My feet followed an unsteady beat.
Often times when life was the worse,
I would stumble on my own feet.
The best advice I was ever given,
From the smartest woman I ever knew,
Was never "Forget you’ve only two feet,
March to the beat, One two, one two”.
She warned me if my fortunes,
Should suddenly reverse or flip,
To never forget at any time,
I used to know how to skip.
