My Life is Good

Labeled an endangered health risk,
I’ve spent months between four walls…
My addictions to food and wine doubled,
As I suffered from social withdrawals.

I watched entire streamed series
Spending hours on Words with Friends…
I escaped with daytime napping,
Yet the loneliness never ends.

My couch mate then reminds me,
Together we both are free.
We are in this world together,
And you always will have me!

Wear It or Share It

Words to me are currency,
Their count is what I can spend…
Rich days affect the beginning,
Poor days can change the end.

I can be overwhelmed with beauty,
Some days I am overcome with pain.
Often, I write in technicolor,
Other days I paint the rain.

Regarding a personal feeling,
No words can force me to wear it.
A wealth of words in contrast,
Allows me to write and share it

Words play a large part in my dreams;
Many nights they are quite aloof.
The nights when words awake me,
Drop like large hail on my metal roof.

The Scents of Spring

There is a scent in the orchard,
When all the fruit trees bloom.
The aroma stretches down to the low tide,
While filling my living room.

Honeybees move in at once,
Drawn by the fruit trees scent…
Pollinating every blossom,
To Pay their seasons rent.

Months later the limbs are bowing,
With the weight of apples in fall…
Schools and churches bring their presses,
Making apple cider for all.

My farmhand and myself,
Have farmed this orchard with ease…
Now we fear our crops next year;
What if there is no water or bees?
