I discovered
in Elementary School,
The sound of
my own voice.
The speeches
of deceased presidents;
Rewinding
history was a choice.
We first
heard Bach without scratches
Spools of
the old and new spoken word,
We could
record, edit and delete,
All that we
chose to be heard.
Parents
heard us quote Shakespeare,
Lawyers
recorded, to seal the deal…
Rosemary
Woods erased eight minutes,
The reel to
reel became all too real.
Everyone used one familiar word,
In grammar school, as I think back…
The name of
our first time machine,
In the
classroom was Wollensak.
