We dress our
dogs in” Thunder Coats”,
Comforters,
when they feel fear…
Never admitting
all that time,
They’re our
security when near.
Jet planes
break sound barriers,
Then the 4th
of July, again…
My dogs jump
in to cuddle me,
Easing my
own fears in the end.
Tonight,
under the covers,
We heard
wind tearing off the roof…
Hunkered
down, I did not scream,
And not one
dog cried “Woof”.
