I’ve definitely had my share of pain,
After years of compounded loss…
Death never avoided my every home.
Every year, I paid the farewell cost.
I’ve learned the amount of the love,
Always equals the amount of grief…
The pain never seems to diminish,
Happy memories supply little relief.
Each room in my house feels haunted,
In all the familiar places…
The haunting involves no spirits,
Just the sight of now vacant spaces.
