Whatever Life Pulls From the Well

No one knows what tomorrow may bring,
It’s whatever life pulls from the well.
Some find days of glory,
Others find years of hell.

Coin tossers at the wishing well,
Often pull up an empty pail…
Life isn’t based on magic,
So many pipe dreams fail.

Rain storms offer the best lightening,
Coldest days, the clearest views…
Winter the harshest darkness,
Yet Sunrises bring the greatest news.

Tomorrow holds untold promise;
Secrets the future will never tell…
Daily we wake up thirsty,
For whatever life pulls from the well.

Cat Lovers Beware

Cats have little loyalty,
They convert us into tools.
Freeing them from the need to hunt,
Now we’re servants and their fools.

Cats watch you clean their litter box
While planning takeovers of the world…
They laugh while you grab paper towels,
To pick up every hair ball hurled.

Cats want no human contact,
Unless you yearn to be alone…
They wake you when alarm clocks fail,
So they have privacy in your home.

If you die of natural causes,
They move next door…new ploy.
Suicide is their favorite,
As you become their favorite toy.

Adrift

If I was ever lost in space
I would not think of me..
I’d see my life juxtaposed
To the rest of humanity.

An explorer once important,
Now an invisible item…
Burning up in outer space,
Dying on a timeline infinitum.

Death by drowning is peaceful,
Air to water, is birth in reversed…
Becoming adrift in the universe,
Is a fate no man’s rehearsed.

A dog and a chimpanzee,
Deserve a second look.
Both sent to die in outer space,
Both rarely mentioned in a book.
