Everyone has
an addiction.
My dog
craves Milk Bone biscuits…
A neighbor
wants OxyContin;
I’m craving
tea bags and some Triscuits.
These are
just the small things,
To get us
through our day…
It takes
chocolate, wine and pizza,
To keep my
pangs at bay.
Fast forward
twenty years now,
All my
longings are taboo…
I have quit
every last addiction,
Except my
thoughts of you.
‘’Hello my
name’s Mike Starring,
I’ve been alone
for twenty-five years’’…
After the
standing ovation,
I walked home
alone in tears.
