When life becomes too dangerous,
To continue living alone,
There comes a time when common sense
Says it’s time to leave your home.
Time brings on many changes,
Often reported as breaking news.
I ‘ve relocated to another state,
Sporting different ocean views.
Tonight’s weather sets off alarms,
Fog horns and the buoy bell,
May be winds, high surf or calm seas,
Here it’s way too soon to tell.
The Coast Guard Flies a square black flag,
Their most dire weather Warning…
Demanding the boats to stay at sea
And out of the harbor till morning.
Sadly, there’s a growing monument,
Saluting the lost fishermen…
Who reported to work as usual,
And never came home again.
