QUIET BEATLE DIES...END OF ERA

 It is not the end of an era

But rather the end of a life.

The years add up like seconds

That halve the past with a knife.

 

I remember the first of the Beatles

I “Want to Hold Your Hand”

Every kid including me,

Started up a garage band.

 

It was all about the music

But never a contest…

A bullet on the charts maybe,

But not who’s laid to rest.

 

In history we lose heroes

And many stars most dear,

Success equaled the masses

And yes, we still are here.

 

We miss the two not with us

Yet two, are still alive,

Goodnight to the Beatles yes!

But many fans survive.

 

So Dear Mister Editor:

I think your headline wrong!

It’s not the end of an era!

We all still sing their song.
