In My Dreams I Fly

Sometimes in my dreams I fly,

Over decades of visited places…

Daring to land on occasion

To glance at familiar faces…

Sometimes I fly over favorite pets,

Raising altitude over pain and regrets.

Often I hover over the losses,

That once were my best bets.

The mind won’t deny the bedridden,

To rise from their shackles and fly,

Everyone has the right to explore,

The world once more ‘fore they die.

Family , Friends and Lovers

Partners, friends, and children,

Got sidelined by the Vietnam War.

Everyone’s future undecided

Many outcomes were looking poor.

Some people joined the Army.

Others bought guns to guard their home.

Their family friends and lovers,

Felt abandoned, scared and alone.

As the world issues lessened,

The public felt safe again once more.

Yet the planet had been compromised,

Declaring an environmental war.

The Atmospheric River rains

Wreak havoc far beyond the norms...

Ocean currents, wind and fires rage,

Redefining seasonal storms.

“Timid soldiers” joined the Coast Guard,

Thought the public who never knew…

How many friends and lovers,

Risk their lives to rescue you.

Canadian Views and Trailer Park News

I could see Canada from my Island,

Vancouver’s lights glowed after dark…

Now I view Canadian Club Bottles,

In the dumpster at the trailer park.

The guy in Space number 7

Wants to kick Space Eleven’s ass…

He drove too close to him walking his dog,

Honking his horn as he passed.

Most of us are now elderly,

Our Villas and castles too large to own…

Very few say where they came from

As if they ditched paying off a loan.

Today Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

Was on the Canadian BBC news…

The retired bartender in Space 1,

Died from decades of Canadian booze.
