Adrift

True joy's floating adrift in a rowboat,

On calm waters bathed in moonlight…

Celebrating like a Viking Funeral, but,

Please don’t strike my match tonight.

Let me enjoy the timeless comfort,

Riding both rising and ebbing tides…

I want to sail through my memories.

Until my last breath and vision subsides.

This is the largest library,

It holds every book written and poem.

All research is available here,

Along with historical facts known.

You may just want to research,

Or create whatever you please…

All this device requires of you,

Is to unscramble the alphabet keys.

The Haunting

I’ve definitely had my share of pain,

After years of compounded loss…

Death never avoided my every home.

Every year, I paid the farewell cost.

I’ve learned the amount of the love,

Always equals the amount of grief…

The pain never seems to diminish,

Happy memories supply little relief.

Each room in my house feels haunted,

In all the familiar places…

The haunting involves no spirits,

Just the sight of now vacant spaces.
